and now for yet another insignificant blog on the French elections…

I think the Hollande win will be something many folks try to spin as meaning more than it possibly could.

I think France may see some positives from it although there is chatter that things are  not in good shape there and the Socialist agenda dream will be put on hold for Sarkozy-esque austerity anyway.

Germany will yawn a little, sweat a little and in the end still be Germany. The ultimate swing there is that Germany could very well look East and I think will look East to Moscow and the Vassal states if Paris gets too excited.

Obamabots,to include the OWS types should refrain from celebrating a world wide message. It’s just not happening folks even though there is…

David Cameron has got to be bumming a little. Not that Nicky was much good to him and his,but the Socialist victory and anything they might try to do will surely ooze some stuff through the Chunnel causing much discomfort and itching to the Tories.

All those attempts by Sarkozy to be near imperial and relevant? This is actually something that might work. Could France and Turkey refresh? Can more contracts for French companies be found in places like Libya? What of the the tone of the Quartet in the Middle East matters?

The EU,unity or division ? Salvation or sacrifice?

  1. Alfie says:

    from the BBC:
The euro fell against the dollar and the pound on Monday following weekend election results, which cast doubt on European austerity plans.

  2. Raji says:

If Hollande won based on his promises of more government spending and higher taxes on the rich and considers that austerity can no longer be the only option, then I fear that voter mentality will be as prevalent in the USA come November.

  3. Alfie says:

Well we’ll see. No matter the press and punditry though reality will eventually answer all. We indeed will see.
