NY Gay Marriage=?

on

I’m in the camp that unless you live in New York it really doesn’t mean a freaking thing. 39 states have laws that says the 6 decided states and the undecideds have nothing on them. I do applaud the NY legislature for actually doing the whole voting thing as opposed to how MA did the pussy court thing that in fact was/is questionably illegal.

Does anyone really think this spells either doom or greatness for NY though? The pundits and putzes on both sides are really just too funny on this thing. Sadly it is the type of story that has great legs in America these days. Economy sucks, summer political doldrums, international news too deep for the public education crowd to comprehend ya get shock and schlock news.

“You know those people in their 70’s who talk about interracial marriage with that sneer in their voice that everyone else rolls their eyes at? The ones who people just kind of forgive for their hideous prejudices because they’re too old to learn to be any better?

    That’s you.

Maybe not today. Maybe not in five years. But in ten years? Possibly. In 20, almost definitely.

You’ve got a limited window here to be on the right side of history. It’s your choice to decide where you want to be here, but that chance won’t last forever. And I’m telling you now, that if you don’t get it soon, you’re going to be left in the dustbin of history, without any real opportunity for redemption.

Because for you, from this point on?

    It. Gets. Worse.”

PS NY matters everywhere because anyone can married there acording to the NY law.
    OK in 2015.

Dog, who was that a quote by? Sounds like Bill Maher.

I really hate it when people fail to credit quotes.
    As for byd’s assertion:

PS NY matters everywhere because anyone can married there acording to the NY law.

That is patently false just as it is for all the marriages performed in MA. If you go to one of those 39 other states your union is not recognized and the feds do not recognize it either. So I think the question stands and the honest answer is what it is.

Willing to stake your miserable existence on that? I’ll take that bet and lend you some very serious odds.

And Yeller Dawg – Alfie is right. This plagiarism is so obvious when you post, you ought to be paying somebody royalties.

P.P.S NY does not matter anywhere else. Just because anyone can go there to marry does not mean that marriage will be recognized anywhere else. (I see Alfie said the same thing)

“Dog, who was that a quote by? Sounds like Bill Maher.”

    Pfffft….

    Try DailyKos

Now you see why he didn’t bother citing it.

Coming, as it does, from someone crushingly ignorant of some significant events of history, that means pretty much NOTHING to me.
