Euro-weenies piss me off…

on

Der Speigel has some god stories and one I read recently looked at how the entitlement/pussy generation is all flustered.(4 page article starts here)

Wah wah wah my country is only good for ouzo and gay jokes…

Wah wah wah we want more democracy…

Wah wah wah we want more socialism…

Wah wah wah after having a state sponsored silver spoon in my mouth I really don’t want the silver reamer in my ass…

Well too fucking bad.

Perhaps I shouldn’t be so hard on these kids, they were given hopes and dreams and reality dealt them a harsh lesson for sure. The thing is though as a Yank I’m sick of being told I should aspire to be more like my EU cousins. Not that the USA hasn’t enough of it’s own troubles, it surely doesn’t deserve all the scorn it gets. This is especially true that with or without American involvement the whole EU concept has proven to be such a f@#$ing joke.

Hey my ranting asides the article collection is a good, easy and quick read and I highly recommend it.

Greece has one apparently simple option for reining in a budget deficit that has roiled financial markets: Clamp down on widespread tax evasion, which costs the country an estimated €15 billion ($20.5 billion) a year, an amount that would pay off a big chunk of the budget deficit. ”

WSJ – or is that too “socialist”

Most of the Greek “problem” is that banks made bad loans and now want their money back. Sound familiar?

I disagree with you assertion that “most of the Greek problem…” Clearly the biggest part of the Greek problem is a deeply ingrained cultural flaw that has seen so much corruption over many many years in both the private and especially the public sectors. The attitudes of its population is equally attributed to cultural failing.
I will say that yes indeed the USA has a ton of cultural failings.

I always thought Yeller Dawg would have made an excellent Greek. 🙂

Yet you continue to support an ideology and party that promotes the same type of borrowing.

Isn’t it unreasonable to expect a generation (both EU and here) to just suck it up when their standard of living is the first after decades of growth to dramatically decline? One might have bootstraps, but at least one and a half of them have been earmarked for when the boomers retired. They’ve been royally screwed by history, and they’re the first generation with enough education to know it.

  7. Tex Taylor says:

I can not speak for the EU, but you bet it unreasonable for succeeding generations to suffer the consequences of the sins of their forefathers. However, I would remind you that many of us have been saying for years Social Security and Medicare are Ponzi schemes and the young Obama rubes, especially the hip college boys and girls, wouldn’t listen three years ago. They wanted to vote for the cult of personality and now they’ve had him for three, long years. And the results are predictable.

Now they too will suffer the consequences for their horrid decisions of putting this sham for President in a position of authority.

So I would suggest the younger generations wake the hell up and run that deceiving bastard into the dustbin of human history, frogmarched to the curb for abysmal failure next year before both SS and Medicare go belly up and there is nothing left for anyone.

Otherwise, I will have absolutely no sympathy for their abject stupidity.
