Microsoft has confirmed that it is investigating a problem described as the “black screen of death”, which affects its latest operating system.

The error means that users of Windows 7 see a totally black screen after logging on to the system.

The firm said it was looking into reports that suggest its latest security update, released on Tuesday 25 November, cause the problem.

    Bah!

No one should be buying a new Microsoft product. It hasn’t been in Beta … ummm … they call it “general availability” … for two years yet!

Windows 95 was crap until about 1997. Windows ME still is crap. Win2000 was okay, but even XP was crap until SP2. The idea that Win7 would be great on its initial release is a great example of optimism overpowering experience.

    (Insert Obama joke here.)

I don’t think Wickle’s suggesting what anybody should buy Elric and regards an insertable Obama joke there is this…

  4. Okay, in all honesty, I have never had anything but trouble from MAC’s. That being said, the people that set them up were trying to make them like PC’s.

In any case I have been using Windows almost exclusively for years, and? After all is said and done? I prefer Win 2K Pro. You know, the Win 98 with the bugs worked out…

Yes,it sounded like a joke, but I am getting ready to build up another white box. This one has lasted since January of 2000. I am seriously considering an open source OS just to get away from all the bovine feces associated with MS as well as MAC.
