I said it before,I’m saying it again…

A nation encumbered, mesmerized and placated all at the same time with entitlement mentality is a nation easily ruled via division politics.

That is the take away lesson for the recent shutdown and political theater in Washington DC. Obama will not be POTUS forever and the truth is the president will not always be a Democrat. The Houses will see shifts. The one constant though will be that division is here to stay. Division is the new normal.

  1. Of course! We have agreed upon all that we can agree upon and reached compromises upon all that we reach compromise upon. What is left is an existential difference.

  2. I don’t really understand your comment. Perhaps it is due to me being ill but there it is.
I don’t see any reason to believe the current makeup of the federal government allows for anything but divisiveness.

It’s not just the makeup of the federal government no longer allows for anything but divisiveness; it’s the nature of the population within America’s borders.

For many, many years we were able to reach compromises but, after a certain, previous point, we’ve reached every compromise that was possible. What’s left is the intransigent differences, the core beliefs of Americans and Liberals.

  3. We have been Balkinised since the beginning, as ethnic groups tended to settle with each other. Now, ideology operates as ethnicity once did.

The fragmentation of culture and communication gives us fewer common experiences as when the British rockers invaded.Several states harbor secessionist movements within their own borders. Maybe we will evolve into England, Scotland, and Wales or English Canada and French Quebec.

  4. As dependency spreads through the economy and more of us compete for government largess,, I remember the old Smothers Brothers skits “Mom liked you best.”
